Why Boca Code?
I chose Boca Code because it offered an in-person learning experience, which I valued highly if I was going to take a chance and change careers. I also read nothing but glowing reviews about the staff and the process, which I am able to corroborate now having gone through it myself. I am incredibly happy that I made the decision to come to Boca Code in the end.
What are some of the important skills for success in your field?
Attention to detail and planning in advance stand out to me. Planning out your project before executing the actual code makes an unbelievable difference in efficiency and helps keep you on track to reach the goal. Attention to detail is another important skill, as someone who enjoys front-end development I have learned that focus (or lack thereof) on even the smallest details can make or break a project.
What inspired you to pursue your current career path?
I have always loved computers as an extension of my love for gaming. In time I grew to love all things tech and even tried to teach myself to code as a child. I thought it was over my head for the longest time, decided to forgo the opportunity to learn again in college and eventually ended up feeling stagnant after a few years at my former company. After finding Boca Code and realizing that I had a tangible opportunity to make software engineering my career, I finally decided to take the chance I didn’t take when I was younger. I could not be more thrilled with my decision.
